During a summer filled with fun and travel for summer camps, I was cast as Marian Paroo in the Merideth Wilson classic, The Music Man. Supplied with a live orchestra and new projector, our theatre group was elevated to new heights. However, opening night brought on a case of laryngitis and an unprepared understudy. I muscled through opening weekend and succeeded in conquering sickness for the encore performances the next Friday and Saturday.
